3.8 04.15 Garden.exe (758,272 - 04/15)
Omg.hlp (6,994 - 03/22)
A major change in the selection of units for movement:
(and setup) Only in the case of one unit will the unit
be automatically selected. Clicking on the unit in the
ground window clears the selection. Clicking on the hex
again clears the selection. (Units no longer rotate.)
This frees up all the actions of movement to the single
Left Mouse Click. The Right Mouse Click no longer clears
the ground units.
Bug #44: In a solution to the problem of not being able to
see the terrain under the units, an option was made in the
menu which allows not showing the units on the main map.
This can be toggled on and off, allowing for better viewing
of the terrain below the units.
"Unit/Chit Guide" is now the "Unit Guide"
Right Mouse button on main map now brings up:
City Name & Hex Location
Units on the hex (in view mode only)
Pressing END during setup will now no longer let you
place more units or move them about.
Bug #87: Turn 11 message eliminated.

Omg.hlp (6,994 - 03/22)
Bug #65: "OFFLINE" image that goes over a personna when they
are not in the game has been replaced by a shading only.
Bug #54: Adisor in informing player about retreating unit will
also inform him of the potential of having the unit destroyed.
Bug #71: Advisor will inform player when it is their turn to
advance a unit. When player selects units to advance they
will be moved to the center hex. The opposing player will not
see these units advance however, as this is due to the double
blind nature.
Bug #30: Retreating defending units, although not removed at
the moment of retreat (this could be confused with their destruction)
are now removed before the advance phase of combat.
Bug #92: END button renamed DONE.
Bug #78: OK button renamed MOVE.
Bug #72: Legends on the map adjusted to avoid confusion.
Bug #11: Title Screen is displayed while units are being downloaded.
3.8 04.22 Garden.exe (761,344 - 04/22)

to attack. The attack button changes to "advance" for the advance phase.
Major repair to the right mouse button help function.
It will now properly work for all cases.
It will display the queue for 1 or more units.
It will clear the queue for 0 units.
When the queue is displayed in help mode any
left mouse press will clear the queue.

3.8 04.24 Garden.exe (759,808 4/24)
Omg.hlp (6,994 - 03/22)
NOTE: Vnotes.txt was changed to frontend.txt because future changes
to the SAS (0412.62 and above) will autonmatically delete and download
(if available) a vnotes.txt from the host.
Bug where retreat was not resetting the targeted flag has been fixed.
Bug #16: Axis players trying to click on hexes during Air Drop will
be told that it is not their turn.
Bug #115: When a unit has no available hexes it can move to, you
can no longer select the unit in the movement phase. (Prior to this
you could select it, no hexes would be highlighted and you had to
de-select it to select another.)
As an additiona special feature. A annoyance with the MOVE, DONE,
and the de-select process, where the entire map was redrawn (any time
I have to re-draw the entire map it takes at least 1 to 2 seconds) has
been optimized. This speeds up movement considerably.
Bug #116: You don't press buttons (advance) you "click" them.
(Personally I always press buttons, although I do click on my mouse.)
Bug #122: Retreat units should not be allowed to advance.
Bug #114: Original system colors had titleBackColor the same color as
backColor. This meant that when the window was not selected the title
bar blended into the rest of the box. The following color numbers will
be used.
Draw->backColor = 197;
Draw->titleBackColor = 196;
Draw->activeTitleBackColor = 195;
Back of unit chit guide adjusted and graphics removed.
(The graphics made the [X] button too large.)
Until the more efficient chat system is put into the game, I have
adjusted the current system to take care of some of the more common
Bugs. They Include: 38,39,40
3.8 04.30 Garden.exe (758,272 - 04/30)
Omg.hlp (6,994 - 03/22)
Bug 119: In several cases during deployment and setup the entire map
was repainted when only the hexes involved should have been repainted.
This was detected when the hourglass cursor was set whenever the entire
map was redrawn, as this process takes up to a second or more to perform.
The map drawing for deployment and setup are now optimized for speed.
Hexes that are off of the map will not be accidentally drawn as airports.
Bug 131: Advisor for bridge removal phase also appeared to the Axis
instead of telling them that it was not their turn.
Bug #42 & #107: Switching from the combat to the main map is no longer
done through the menu system. Instead, a right mouse click ok the combat
map will bring up the big map (right was choosen over left as its finction
is somewhat help oriented and clicking just slightly off of the buttons
would produce a rather unexpected result (the map would appear) if it was
assigned to the left button). On the big map, during those times when
the combat map is required, combat and advance, a left mouse click on
the map will bring back the combat map.
Bug #88: Unit Chit Guide Moved to "WINDOWS" menu.
Bug #81: Context Sensetive Help added to the menu.
Advance: Units that have advanced cannot be selected for advancement.
Axis can no longer end the Allied Bridge Removal Phase.
Updated retreat routine to make sure proper version is used on front end.
Moved host end hex information to front end, since front end had a few
errors here and there and this made a problem in the retreat calculations.
Bug #136, #137: Tool Tips adjusted. Message of tool tip not found will
no longer appear when the .tip file is not in debug mode. Some additional
numbers added.
#define idh_large_map 1001

(Of these only 1008 & 1009 have defined tool tips, as be the defintion
that only buttons without text should have tooltips.)
Bug #139: "Tool/Tips" on menu now "Tooltips"
Bug #141: DP and ADP replaced with (air) deployment points whenever found.
3.8 05.02 Garden.exe (760,832 = 05/22)

Bug #138: Right mouse clicks on hexes will now also indicate whether they
are north of the two important rivers for victory conditions, the
Lower Rhine/ Ijsel and the Maas Rivers. (The former is required for Allied
victory and the latter for Axis victory.)
Bug #143: Somehow help was removed for the unit window.
Errors in Front End Retreat Location Function corrected.
It is now possible to backtrack movement one hex at a time.
When clicking or dragging movement, going back on the previous
hex will erase the previous move. (Clicking on the starting
hex will unselect the unit and clear the move queue. This
allows for making corrections to movement without having to
start all over again.
Bug #140: Unit Guide modified.
Bug #133: Player cannot press DONE while a Reinforcement box is pending.
Bug #147: Allied reinforcements window should say 52nd Lowland not Northumbrian.

Omg.hlp (121,608 05/02)
Replaced END with DONE in two inactivity advisor messages
Bug #151, #152: Clicking on the close button and pressing <ALT>X will now return
you to the SAS system and not exit you completely. (Note that Bug #150 which
is similiar was solved on the host end.)
Bug #121: A beep was added to the request to blow up a bridge.
(Several changes were made to the host, which are not recorded here. None of
the host changes requires changes to the front end.)
3.8 05.13 Garden.exe (762,368 05/13)
Omg.hlp (121,608 05/02)
Adjusted the advance routine to make sure that the all the defending units
have been removed.
Bug #157: Menu option added to display the last weather report.
Bug #141: "Air" in air deployment points has been removed from all advisors.
ground deployment points and air deployment points are both referred to as
"deployment points" which might be confusing to players.
Bug #161: Advisor will now come up at the beginning of air supply explaining
what should be done. In addition it was discovered that the advisors that
appeared due to inactivity for both air supply and air drop were generals
and not the air advisor. This has also been changed, the Air Advisor will
advise on all air matters. Other advisors have been added to certain
phases, (such as bridge removal phase) to inform the player.
Bug #160: After the background is drawn the next thing you will see is the
start game advisor. (It may take a second or two, but it is the next thing
seen)
Fix made to ensure that the combat map always cleans up after itself.
Bug #165: A fix on the host end movement was not reflected on the front
end, giving the impression that Air repair units could move in the off-road
impulse. This has been corrected.
Bug #167: Right clicking terrain will now give terrain type (off-road, hill,
marsh, polder, airport (damaged or undamaged))
Right mouse for small map is now identical with right mouse for large map.
Bug #170: Advosor change: "Please select initial deployment units and
click OK before you click Done."
Bug #171: Tool Tips menu item REMOVED.
3.8 05.20 Garden.exe (763,904 05/20)
Omg.hlp (121,608 05/02)
A serious bug where a reinforcement window that had no reinforcements
(normally not displayed) would crash the system has been fixed.
Bug #174: Mispelling: "latest: mispelled.
Context Sensitive Help on units in display queue and in combat window
enabled, as well as units in the Allied Deployment and Reinforcement windows.
Bug #179: advsior for air supply dropping now states "Allied controled"
Added a feature to display the current turn # from the menu.

no longer be jumpy when the end of the scrolling area has been reached.
Bug #178: Phantom unit that pops up in the upper left corner of the display
has been eliminated.
Optimizations made to the drawing routines, so that they do not display one
hex at a time, but all at once as needed.
Clicking on the Compas Rose (right or left mouse) will invoke the context
sensitive map. Right clicking now only works on hexes on the map. (Others
gave incorrect information.) Left Clicking on the small map only works on
those areas of the map with hexes.
3.8 05.28 Garden.exe (763,392 05/28)
Omg.hlp (121,608 05/02)
Bug #180: Major change to the reinforcement box and to the initial deployment
box for the allies. (The latter can not be seen per se) Clicking on the
various units will automatically select the appropiate units and adjust the
costs. User friendly.
Bug #181: Pre game and post game turn numbers (turns 0 and 11) did not appear
with the menu option. They will now display appropiate text messages. Turn
"1" which normally occurs after the initial setup up was never broadcast to
the front ends unless the player exited and re-entered the game. In order to
avoid confusion between the setup and the first turn, both are being reported
as "turn 1" by the menu option.
Bug #179: "Controlled" Spelling error fixed.
Bug #183: It seems there were a few "missing" units in my help list, so some
were assigned different roles in the help file. This has been corrected.
There is also one mistake on the Axis side.
Note: as of the help of 5/2 the following unit types have not been defined:
#define idh_british_recon 1051
#define idh_british_motorized_engineer 1052
#define idh_british_air_landing 1053
#define idh_dutch_motorized_infantry 1054

Context help menu item renamed "What Is? ..."
Bug #153: (possibly others) Main windows moved to always on bottom, (map, battle
map, small map, allied box, axis box and button box, only advisor and chat remain
always on top. Thus no decision box will appear over the starting advisor!

Bug #117: Anti-Aircraft fire on landing allied forces will now leave lightning bolts,
which can be dismissed by clicking on the strategic map.
Bug #124: Multiple clicking on the attack unit to gain a tactical advantage removed.
Bug #159: When Axis units overrun a supply marker the supply marker will be removed.
Bug #83: Axis player does not see a blank deployment queue during initial placement.
Bug #77: When the theater gets around to it, paging will be gladly accepted.
Bug #9: A log window has been added to the Chat System.
Bug #95: Unit guide, now is unique. Selecting the menu item again will cause it to
move to its original location. It can also be dismissed by a key stroke if it is
the currently selected window, in the same manner as the advisors can.
Bug #91: Deploying the last unit in a queue, (ground deployment or air deployment)
will send an automatic "DONE" to the server.
Bug #167: Right mouse click help now gives more terrain details, such as clear and
road hexes.
3.8 06.07 Garden.exe (765,952 06/07)
Omg.hlp (121,608 05/02)
Bug #197: Incomming and outgoing messages are now seen in the chat log.
Bug #199: Off-Map hexes will no longer be displayed as destpyed airfields.
Should the front end determine a problem with the host you will be given the
option of exiting. (Note that this has probably occured because communications
with the host has been stagnated. Therefore the Theater will probably close
communications when it fails to re-connect to its server.)
Significant changes to the chat box.
Bug #41: Chat windows now clear when left mouse clicked.
Bug #197: Outgoing as well as incomming chat messages are now recorded.
Bug #204: Timing increased since left mouse click now works.
Bug #203: Input text reduced, although All W's still do not fit well in balloon.
Allied Units will not show up on Hex 0,0.
(In fact nothing should be displayed on 0,0)
3.8 06.12 Garden.exe (766,976 06/12)
Omg.hlp (127,217 06/10)
Bug #129, 130, 148, 214: Button problem.
The biggest change is a modification to the basic GUI routines which allow the
deletion of buttons that are currently being pressed. The following bugs seem
to be related to this problem:
The sound effect for the selection of attackers and defenders seemed to imply
that the actual combat results were being determined at the time, this has been
removed. In addition it was determined that having specific sound effects when
units first enter a combat hex instead of the generic explosion does not reveal
any information above the double blind, since the units are revealed in the
following combat anyway.
Bug#192: A bug where the initial allied window would crash if the player selected
a unit from the 50th infantry then exited and selected the second unit when he came
back into the game has been fixed.
3.8 06.17 Garden.exe (766,976 06/17)
Omg.hlp (127,217 06/10)
Bug#220: Deploying unit in turn 7 that was previously missing would cause the
game to crash. This has been fixed on the host and the front end.
3.8 06.19 Garden.exe (766,976 06/19)
Omg.hlp (126,727 06/17)
A strange bug, the host end is occasionally known to send a supply unit as a reinforcement.
The front end would crash, this has been fixed, although the host end problem
is also being looked into.
3.8 06.24 Garden.exe (767,488 06/24)
Omg.hlp (126,727 06/17)
Bug#193: Bug with arrow removal upon de-selecting units to move fixed.
Bug#120, 128, 187, 224: Dropping Air repair or air landing units into enemy territory will
now give a more appropiate and logical response other than the hex is controlled by the enemy.
Air Supply has also been adjusted to give a better response.
Bug#128: Selecting an improper hex for air drop units such as air repair and air landing
will *not*n reset the button and the unit can still be placed on the map. The player
must now physically de-select the unit (by pressing once) to select another. This is
now more consistant with other deployment functions.
Bug#216: After AA Fire indicators, clicking on the main map, will
also clear the AA indicators while at the same time, preforming the
normal function for clicking on the hex.
Bug#204: Chat baloons should appear all of the time, and not appear only for an instant.
Bug#144: Advisor now appears to inform player that no bridges were destroyed.
Bug#226: The "It's you turn" the Allies get after the end of turn 10 before victory is
determined will now no longer be displayed.
Bug#176: When a Axis reinforcemet's movement is stopped due to an allied unit on the
map, an advisor will explain just what has occured.
Bug#218: Pressing the attack button will no longer cause extra "DONE" button presses
ending subsequent movement turns. (NOTE THIS IS 100% COMPATIBLE WITH PREVIOUS VERSIONS)
3.8 07.01 Garden.exe (769,024 07/01)
Omg.hlp (126,971 6/28)
Adjusted Initial Allied Deployment box up a few pixels.
Bug #34: Border on Global Map will now show the location of the Regional Main Map.
Change in the way the main map responds to dragging events as opposed to left mouse
clicks. Dragging will now be ignored in all events except movement. Dragging will
no longer trigger movement to be process, as was the case if a player dragged a
movwement too far and dragged back to the last hex. (A left mouse click must be made
on the final hex to submit the movement, or pressing the move button) Error messages
will not be displayed in drag mode, as they tend to stack up quickly to excess.
This should solve the following bugs: #207, #229
Bug #222: Allies Reinforcement Window will now reflect the correct number of deployment
points alloted should the allies exit/re-enter the game during the reinforcement phase.
Bug #27: If no successful actions are taken in a given phase, a confirmation box will
appear to confirm any "DONE" requests.
